155 reviewers said: I couldn’t put the book down / I needed to know what happened next
/ This book is a page-turner
Example review: I started to read this book and could not stop. You become so involved with the characters that at the end of each chapter you can't put it down because you need to know what happens to the characters that you love so much. I originally heard about this book and author in the local paper and I was intrigued to read a book from local talent. After I finished this book I was floored, I couldn't believe that his first-ever published novel was such a home run. Can't wait to read the next book in this series. – Tamara
139 reviewers said: Great overall plot / Great plot twists
Example review: I wasn't quite sure what to expect when I started this book. However, I was quickly drawn in by the story. Everflame begins with learning of the kingdom of bears. It is interesting, they have set up a civilization similar to that of humans. Eveneye and Whiteclaw come across a small human boy, and Eveneye decides to take him and raise the boy as his own. Controversy ensues, and... well, I'll leave something for you to discover...no spoiler! This is a tale rich in lore and mythology, with interesting twists. I recommend this whole-heartedly...I shall go buy book two right now, because I need to know how this story continues. – Sara
107 reviewers said: I loved the characters
Example review: The characters became so real. I was on their journey with them. Couldn't put it down. Evercloud and Riverpaw are perfect heroes. – Carrie
106 reviewers said: This book captivates the imagination/ The concept was very interesting
Example review: An intriguing and original interpretation of good versus evil, where you are left rooting for both sides. I highly recommend this for those who aren't usually fans of fantasy. – Jacinta
82 reviewers said: It’s not the genre I usually read and was surprised that I liked it so much
Example review: I didn't know what to think when I read the synopsis. A boy and a bear becoming friends… was this meant to be a fairy tale… a joke? No! Everflame tells an original story of society’s ever stubborn flaws and ideas. I found myself relating to the viewpoints and morals Eveneye (a bear) shared. Their community battles injustices as a result of human ignorance. It is really interesting to read intelligent insight from another species perspective. As the story evolved I found myself experiencing several different emotions, sometimes all at once. I was rooting for one character, while crying for another. This story provides depth, emotion and left me on the edge of my chair reeling to read the next book in the series! – cmh627
67 reviewers said: It’s a quick read / It’s an easy read
Example review: Great read. Culture, mystery, adventure, excitement, twists and anticipation of "what's going to happen next?" Fast and easy read. Never bored, easily flowed and never an “okay get on with it" moment. Just happened upon this book and glad I did. Ready for the next one. – Dennis
57 reviewers said: The first Everflame book is too good to be FREE
Example review: You know since early 2012 I've made it a point to only read indie/self published works. To me I think I find some of the best uncorrupted stories here. This book falls into that category. Engaging characters, flowing plot and a series I can really sink my teeth into. My only objection to this... MAN put a price on it. Stop giving away your art for free. – Thomas
52 reviewers said: I liked the message / I liked the philosophy
Example review: I have read many fantasy books in the past, but this book brings a whole new dynamic to the fantasy world. It teaches ethics, and empowers the reader to become more then they believe... to believe in their light within themselves. I am amazed by the depth of the conflict this book introduces, with good and evil and neutral all muddled together; this is exactly the step fantasy needs to take as a genre. Well done Mr. Peters, well done. – John
